On 20 and 21 April 2023, MusiQuE took part in the biannual ENQA Members’ Forum: QA in the EHEA: linking policy and practice and General Assembly organised at NCEQE (National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement) in Tbilisi (Georgia). The Members’ Forum included plenary sessions presenting the first analyses of the results from the recently launched QA-FIT survey, on quality assurance practices in the European Higher Education Area during the last years. Members from the E4 group (ENQA, ESU, EUA and EURASHE) referred to different stakeholders’ perspectives on topics covered by the survey.

QA and research, QA and European University Alliances and digital transformation and enhancement of QA procedures are included among the topics of current interest for quality assurance agencies according to the survey.

The results of the survey and conclusive ideas from their further discussion will be considered to explore future perspectives on the ESGs, focused on their enhancement-oriented use, and as input for the next Ministerial Conference on the Bologna Process taking place in 2024 in Tirana (Albania).

During a poster session at the Forum, a member of the MusiQuE Office presented the Critical Friend review as an example practice that aims to strengthen a quality enhancement-led approach in quality assurance procedures. The poster presenting this approach can be downloaded here.

In this session, other quality assurance agencies operating in the EHEA showed other proposals on how to strengthen quality enhancement in QA and other approaches going beyond the ESG.

The Forum concluded with a presentation and further discussion on artificial intelligence and how the irruption of software such as chatGPT may challenge academic integrity in higher education in the near future as well as possible developments to overcome this.
