In 2015, a transversal analysis of the higher music education system in the Federation Wallonie-Bruxelles was produced by a team of experts appointed by MusiQuE and AEQES (L’Agence pour l’Evaluation de la Qualité de l’Enseignement Supérieur). The analysis was based upon the review reports which were drafted as a result of the site-visits and a study of the self-evaluation reports written by the following institutions: Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, Arts2 (Mons), Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie (Namur) and Conservatoire Royal de Liège. The study offers a contextualised analysis of the current situation of the higher music education system, it lists both strong points and opportunities for improvement, and concludes with recommendations to students, teachers, institutions and the government.
