On 14 February, MusiQuE presented the webinar ‘Quality enhancement at pre-college level’, discussing the benefits and challenges of quality enhancement reviews at pre-college level. The webinar was initiated by Mattias Lundqvist from the Barratt Due Institute of Music (Oslo, Norway) and secretary of the Young Music Talents in Europe (YMTE).

The speakers’ panel was formed by Annick van Gennip (Head of department at the School for Young Talent at Royal Conservatoire of The Hague), Christoph Brenner (General Director at Head of department at the School for Young Talent at Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, Linda Messas (MusiQuE Director) and Michaela Hahn (MusiQuE Board member, EMU representative and Senior Lecturer at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien), who moderated the session.

Annick van Gennip from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague and Christoph Brenner from Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana shared their experiences as representatives from reviewed institutions at pre-college level and MusiQuE representative Linda Messas explained how MusiQuE quality enhancement procedures at pre-college level originated and described this type of procedure in more detail.

Members of the audience also participated in the open discussion at the end of the webinar, where they shared their thoughts on pre-college review procedures.
