ANMAtalks is an initiative for sharing knowledge between students, staff, and management of the Nordic and Baltic academies for higher music education and anyone else who might be interested. ANMAtalks is initiated by the ANMA ExCom and is being developed by Keld Hosbond (Principal at RAMA) and Camilla Overgaard (Project Coordinator of ANMAtalks).
The 11th ANMAtalk will explore the topic of quality assurance in higher music education institutions. Accordingly, MusiQuE representatives will present the Critical Friend Review from different perspectives and discuss with the audience how such reviews can be embedded in the quality assurance systems in place in the Nordic countries.
Speakers will include:
- Orla McDonagh (MusiQuE Board member and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at TU Dublin) as moderator
- Martin Prchal (MusiQuE Senior Advisor and Vice Principal of Royal Conservatoire The Hague): introducing the Critical Friend approach
- Student at Royal Conservatoire The Hague: giving her perspective on the Critical Friend approach as a student from a visited institution
- Linda Messas (MusiQuE Director): illustrating the institutional contexts in which a Critical Friend Review can be used
The talk will include a final discussion inviting all members of the audience to participate and ask related questions to MusiQuE representatives. Experienced MusiQuE Peer Reviewers involved in higher music education institutions in the Nordic countries will also take part in the discussion.
This online event will take place on Friday, 2nd September 2022 at 10-11am CEST via Zoom.
Registration is open to representatives from higher music education institutions from Nordic countries and beyond and attendance is free of charge. It can be completed online via the following link.
