MusiQuE’s Strategy 2026-2030
A significant part of the meeting was devoted to MusiQuE’s new Strategic Plan for 2026-2030. The plan is built around three pillars:
- Communication, focused on increasing MusiQuE’s visibility and influence and strengthening partnerships with key organisations in the performing arts sector;
- Capacity Building, aimed at developing training opportunities and creating a specialised resource hub on quality enhancement for education in the performing arts;
- Services, centred on increasing the relevance and efficiency of MusiQuE reviews and supporting organisations in their enhancement journey beyond the review process
The Board reviewed the results of a market study and financial projections prepared by the MusiQuE Office, and engaged in a workshop to define the strategic direction for the next five years. This session led to the finalisation of MusiQuE’s vision, mission and values, as well as the approval of the Strategic Plan, which will be published on the our website shortly.
Ongoing and upcoming review activities
The Board received a verbal report from the Operations Sub-Committee meeting held online in March. The MusiQuE Office also provided an update on ongoing and upcoming review procedures planned for 2026-2027. More information about MusiQuE’s services can be found here.
Internal and external quality assurance
The Board reviewed feedback questionnaires on review services collected between 2023 and 2025 and approved follow-up actions proposed by the Office, aimed at further enhancing the effectiveness and consistency of review processes. Among the changes to be introduced or explored are:
- the development of resources to support institutions in writing their Self-Evaluation Report, including webinars, clearer guidance and structured templates;
- revising the site visit schedule template to reduce overloaded days and better balance the workload for review teams;
- the organisation of dedicated training sessions for Secretaries and Chairs;
- the introduction of a post-site-visit online meeting with the Review Team;
- the revision of the Critical Friend Review process.
Strengthening partnerships and external relations
Strengthening partnerships is one of MusiQuE’s strategic intents for 2026-2030, reflecting the conviction that the synergies generated through collaboration often surpass what individual organisations can achieve independently. Board members discussed the draft partnership plan and worked in small groups to explore ways of enhancing mutual benefits between MusiQuE and its partner organisations (AEC, EMU, Pearle* Live Performance Europe and EAS), as well as with other network organisations.
Visibility and communication
During the meeting, MusiQuE Board members also discussed the draft Communication Strategy, which represents the first step of a renewed approach to the external communication. The discussion focused on the structure, priorities, and scope of the strategy, with particular attention to strengthening MusiQuE’s positioning and outreach. This initial draft will serve as a basis for further development.
