Last week, MusiQuE and the EAS (European Association for Music in School) have signed a new collaboration agreement, which officialises the ongoing collaboration between the two organisations in order to foster and promote quality enhancement in music education at all levels.

The European Association of Music in Schools (EAS) serves as a platform for the music educators – teachers, artists, scientists, students – who are committed to developing and improving music education throughout the countries of Europe. EAS brings together all those concerned with music education in school to share and exchange knowledge and experience in professional fields and to advocate for high quality music education accessible to all.

Through this agreement, EAS will join MusiQuE as one of its partner organisations, joining the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC), the European Music School Union (EMU) and the Performing Arts Employers’ Associations League Europe (Pearle*). Therefore EAS will also join the decision making processes within MusiQuE by having a seat in the MusiQuE Board. For this position EAS has nominated Gerhard Sammer (HFM Würzburg), former EAS President, whose nomination has been unanimously adopted by the MusiQuE Board. MusiQuE welcomes the opportunity to further include the perspective of music educators in its work, through EAS’s expertise and also welcomes Gerhard in the MusiQuE Board.
